LAHORE. In a significant move to advance academic collaboration and scientific innovation, Punjab University (PU) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote joint research and knowledge exchange initiatives for national development.
The signing ceremony took place at the PU Vice Chancellor’s office, where PU VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, UET VC Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, and Pro-VC Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, among others, were present.
According to the agreement, both universities will share research products, technologies, and materials developed by their faculty, researchers, and students. The collaboration aims to enhance academic excellence and optimize resources while maintaining a non-commercial focus.
The MoU seeks to promote interdisciplinary research, encourage innovation through shared resources, and strengthen the academic relationship between the two leading institutions. Officials noted that the partnership will play a crucial role in improving research quality and contributing to Pakistan’s technological and scientific advancement.
Meanwhile, Punjab University has also announced the reopening of its admission portal for Phase-II entrance test candidates until October 24, 2025.
According to Chairman Admission Committee Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, the decision was approved by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali in response to numerous requests from students who had appeared in the PU Entry Test (Phase-II) but were unable to apply earlier.
He said that 1,639 candidates will now have the opportunity to apply for programs where seats are still available, ensuring equal access to academic opportunities across departments.
