RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, the sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, after her repeated failure to appear before the court.
The case pertains to protests held on November 26, for which Aleema Khan and 10 others have been charged. During the latest hearing before Judge Amjad Ali Shah, ten of the accused appeared in court, while five prosecution witnesses also testified and presented case evidence.
The court, however, noted Aleema Khan’s continued absence and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the third time, also extending the same order against her guarantor, Umar Sharif.
Police have been directed to arrest Aleema Khan and produce her before the court on October 22.
