Lahore, Pakistan — The Punjab government’s flagship housing initiative, “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar”, launched under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is transforming the lives of thousands of low-income families across the province. The program aims to provide 500,000 homes to deserving families over the next five years.
Secretary Housing Punjab, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, visited several newly settled families, congratulating them and presenting gifts on behalf of the Chief Minister to mark the completion of their homes.
Beneficiary families expressed deep gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, describing the initiative as a “dream come true.” One homeowner shared, “We never imagined owning a house — this became possible only because of Maryam Nawaz Sharif.”
Mengal praised the families who completed their homes, calling them ambassadors of the program, and encouraged them to help spread awareness so that more deserving citizens could benefit. He also announced that families who have maintained and decorated their homes beautifully will be recognized with special awards.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, Mengal stated, “Our goal is to reach every family in Punjab that dreams of owning a home. Each completed house stands as a shining example of this program’s success.”
Under the Chief Minister’s special instructions, the Secretary personally met with the new homeowners, noting their visible happiness and satisfaction as they began a new chapter in their lives.
