LAHORE: The 104th meeting of the Governing Body of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin.
A 21-point agenda was discussed during the session, and PHATA’s annual budget was approved. Officials also briefed the minister on the Punjab Chief Minister’s flagship initiatives — Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar and Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar.
The meeting reviewed progress on the Affordable Housing Project, being implemented in collaboration with the World Bank, and discussed proposed amendments to the laws governing private affordable housing schemes.
Minister Bilal Yasin directed officials to accelerate the implementation of the Affordable Housing Project and to submit detailed recommendations for improving project delivery. He also instructed PHATA to prepare a feasibility report and comprehensive recommendations regarding the settlement of unutilized PHATA lands.
Appreciating the performance of the PHATA team in advancing the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar program, Bilal Yasin issued orders to expedite development work on sites under the Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar scheme.
He reiterated that public welfare projects remain a top priority for the Chief Minister of Punjab, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing solutions to low-income families across the province.
