LAHORE: Ajoka Institute, in collaboration with the Punjab Institute of Language, Art & Culture (PILAC), is set to stage “Marya Hoya Kutta” (The Dead Dog) — a thought-provoking play that confronts themes of social neglect and moral decay.
The production marks the first public performance by students of Ajoka Institute’s Art of Acting programme and will be held on Friday, October 24, at 7:00 PM at the PILAC Auditorium, adjacent to Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Written by Shahid Nadeem, Executive Director of Ajoka, the play reflects his hallmark blend of sharp social commentary and creative narrative. “This debut performance is a proud milestone for our students,” said Nirvaan Nadeem, Director of Ajoka Institute. “It represents Ajoka’s enduring commitment to socially meaningful art that inspires audiences to reflect and respond.”
The evening will feature Mr. Ghulam Saghir Shahid, newly appointed Director General of PILAC, as the Chief Guest.
Through this collaboration, Ajoka and PILAC reaffirm their mission to nurture emerging theatre artists and promote socially relevant performing arts in Pakistan. The event symbolizes a new chapter in Ajoka’s journey to empower young talent and use theatre as a catalyst for dialogue and change.
Ajoka Institute invites theatre enthusiasts, media professionals, and art supporters to join this special evening of creative expression and social reflection.
