PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi revealed that he was stopped by a constable from meeting PTI founder Imran Khan during his visit to Adiala Jail.
Speaking to lawyers at the Peshawar High Court, Afridi dismissed speculation that he had come to influence the Bar Council elections, asserting that his visit was solely in support of the rule of law.
“I was not brought here by anyone — I was elected,” Afridi said, adding that he wanted to meet the PTI founder to seek policy guidelines for the province.
He further stated that he had directed the Home Department to formally write to the Punjab and federal governments to arrange the meeting and had also submitted a petition to the court to allow it.
