ISLAMABAD (International Desk) — The opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aeen Pakistan (TTAP) has announced that Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has authorized Mahmood Khan Achakzai, president of the alliance, and Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas to hold negotiations with the government or the establishment on behalf of the alliance.
According to a statement issued by the alliance’s spokesperson, Imran Khan has barred all PTI leaders from maintaining any form of direct contact with government officials or establishment representatives.
The spokesperson clarified that any future dialogue or negotiations between the government and the opposition must be conducted only through Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, as per the PTI founder’s directives.
Earlier, Imran Khan’s sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, told reporters after meeting him in Adiala Jail that the former prime minister had reiterated his stance of not engaging with the establishment or discussing “Form-47” issues directly. She said Imran Khan emphasized that any communication or political engagement would be handled solely through Achakzai, who leads the TTAP alliance.
The development underscores an attempt by the embattled opposition to streamline its political communication channels amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan’s ruling coalition and powerful military establishment.
