LAHORE: The award-winning crime-thriller “Jujji,” which clinched first place at the Punjab Police Film Festival, has achieved significant international recognition with its release on Amazon Prime for audiences in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated Director Habib Shahzad on the film’s global success. He said that productions by private film-making institutions play an essential role in showcasing the achievements, challenges, and investigative efforts of the police force. He reaffirmed that Punjab Police will continue to encourage and support filmmakers producing quality, thought-provoking crime-themed projects.
The Punjab Police had organized a crime-theme film festival last year, where films from private production houses competed. “Jujji,” produced by BHM Films, secured top positions in all categories, including Best Story and Best Acting. The judging panel featured distinguished Pakistani artists Touqeer Nasir, Usman Peerzada, and Syed Noor.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, “Jujji” has already won several national and international awards. The film is centered on the gruesome murders committed by a serial killer and the subsequent police investigation that leads to his capture. It portrays multiple facets of police inquiry, along with the challenges encountered during the investigative process, in a compelling and realistic manner.
