LAHORE: Lahore Police have intensified their ongoing crackdown on power theft across the provincial capital, arresting 755 suspects and registering 1,467 FIRs during the month of November, according to an official statement issued on Thursday.
A spokesperson for Lahore Police reported that in 2025 alone, authorities have arrested 30,308 individuals involved in electricity theft, while 23,997 cases have been registered in various police stations across the city.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana said those responsible for causing losses to national resources “deserve no leniency.” He directed police teams to extend full cooperation to relevant departments in pursuing power-theft cases and to expedite action against proclaimed offenders wanted in such crimes.
The CCPO further instructed that all electricity theft cases be promptly completed, with challans submitted to courts without delay. Reaffirming the department’s commitment to strict enforcement, he said Lahore Police, under a zero-tolerance policy, are working around the clock to curb crime and prevent financial losses to public resources.
