Lahore — Punjab authorities have launched a major crackdown on traffic violations, issuing more than Rs 70 million in fines over the past 48 hours. According to officials, the intensified campaign targeted key offences, particularly unlicensed driving.
During the operation, action was taken against 11,700 individuals for driving without a licence, resulting in heavy penalties across the province.
In addition, over the span of just two days, police registered more than 1,400 cases, while thousands of vehicles were impounded for various violations, including non-compliance with safety standards and lack of proper documentation.
Officials say the campaign aims to curb rising traffic accidents and promote safer roads through strict enforcement.
