Lahore (Sports Reporter): The four-day International Boxing Championship concluded in Lahore, with Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem successfully defending his title. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif also attended the event and watched the thrilling contests.
The championship featured a total of 21 fights, with 44 boxers from 15 countries participating in the event organized in collaboration with the World Boxing Association (WBA).
On the final day, the main event titled “Fight for Glory” saw a tough contest for the WBA Gold Bantamweight Title between Pakistan’s Muhammad Waseem and Thailand’s Jakrawut.
The intense fight lasted 12 rounds, after which Muhammad Waseem was declared the winner. Speaking after his victory, Waseem thanked the nation for their support and also expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army and the Punjab government. Foreign athletes were provided extraordinary security by the Pakistan Army and other security agencies.
Earlier, 44 boxers from 15 countries arrived in Pakistan between November 20 and 23 and were warmly welcomed.
Alongside the “Fight for Glory” contests, a Boxing Convention was also organized as part of the championship.
