LAHORE: Punjab’s expert coaches continued providing modern and intensive training to athletes across multiple disciplines at various camps organised by the Sports Board Punjab on Monday at Nishtar Park Sports Complex. The camps are part of the province’s preparations for the 35th National Games, scheduled to be held in Karachi from December 6 to 13.
Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab, Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry—who is regularly monitoring all training camps—visited several venues to assess the progress and coaching standards being maintained by qualified instructors.
Speaking during the visit, DG Khizar Afzaal said that players are being provided with all necessary facilities to ensure optimal preparation. “Both male and female athletes are demonstrating great passion and enthusiasm in the camps, which is highly encouraging,” he remarked.
He added that the Punjab contingent will compete in the National Games under the leadership of Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, expressing confidence that Punjab’s athletes will secure top positions at the event.
On Monday, boxing and judo training sessions were held at the Contact Body Center, where coaches fine-tuned athletes’ skills and urged them to channel their energy effectively for strong performances in the upcoming mega event. Meanwhile, the badminton training camp at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex gymnasium hall saw senior provincial coach Zareena Waqar and her team imparting modern techniques to both male and female players.
