Federal Health Minister and MQM leader Mustafa Kamal has said that people should be grateful the Pakistan Army is responding to allegations only through press conferences, despite what he called “extremely filthy accusations.”
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Mustafa Kamal said the Pakistan Army has defeated the ambitions of a much larger Indian army in the past. He added that it is wrong to create a narrative that there is a distance between Pakistan and its military.
He said, “Be thankful that the army is only replying through press conferences. In the past, even for far smaller actions, mothers had to search for their sons. Despite such dirty allegations, the army is only talking. God forbid, if what happened with us happens to you, you would understand. We in Karachi have suffered for 40 years.”
Mustafa Kamal added that although they also express concerns behind closed doors, they have never acted against the country’s integrity. He said they will support what is right and oppose what is wrong.
Addressing PTI, he urged the party to review its policies. He said PTI’s attitude — that generals are considered good only when they follow PTI’s wishes — is unfortunate.
He added that it is not possible for the country to progress only when PTI is in power, calling this mindset harmful for the nation.
