Baghdad, Iraq — President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has offered Pakistan’s expertise and support in the reconstruction of Iraq, highlighting Islamabad’s readiness to contribute through skilled manpower, technical knowledge, and strategic cooperation.
President Zardari held a high-level meeting with Iraqi President Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid at Baghdad Palace, where both leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional stability, and avenues for economic and infrastructure cooperation. During the ceremony, President Zardari was received with a grand guard of honor, emphasizing the significance of the visit.
Speaking at the meeting, Zardari stressed that Pakistan and Iraq share historic and brotherly ties, and that these relations could be further strengthened in sectors such as trade, energy, health, education, and infrastructure development. He expressed Pakistan’s interest in participating in key reconstruction projects in Iraq.
