LAHORE — A Christmas cake-cutting ceremony was held at the Emergency Services Headquarters in Lahore on Tuesday to honour Christian employees of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122).
Addressing the gathering, Secretary Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer said that Christmas is a day to renew the collective commitment to mutual love, brotherhood, tolerance, and social justice. He said that the teachings of Jesus Christ serve as a beacon for all humanity and continue to inspire compassion and service.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer acknowledged the contributions of Masih employees, stating that Christian staff members are playing an equally important role in providing timely emergency care to victims, without any discrimination. He emphasised that their dedication and professionalism are vital to the effective functioning of emergency services across the province.
The ceremony was organised by the Emergency Services Academy in collaboration with Masih employees of the Emergency Services Headquarters. It was attended by the Registrar of the Emergency Services Academy, the Administrator of the Emergency Services Department (ESD), Deputy Director Operations, Provincial Monitoring Officer, heads of various wings, and a large number of Masih employees from the Emergency Services Headquarters and Academy.
On the occasion, Dr. Rizwan Naseer extended warm Christmas greetings to Masih rescuers serving across Punjab. He also praised Christian employees for their valuable contributions to the development of Pakistan in various sectors, particularly their role in strengthening Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122).
He added that people of all religions living in Pakistan, irrespective of race or colour, are equal citizens and compatriots. “We must unite as a nation and collectively contribute to the development and prosperity of Pakistan,” he said.
