LAHORE — In a significant step toward advancing women’s economic inclusion, the Punjab government will host the Women Entrepreneurial Punjab Expo (WEPX) 2026 on January 8 and 9, bringing together more than 600 women entrepreneurs from across the province to showcase women-led businesses, innovation and market-ready products.
Organised by the Women Development Department, the two-day event is being held under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Women First” vision, which places women’s empowerment at the core of Punjab’s development strategy.
Officials said WEPX 2026 is designed as a market-access and policy-aligned platform, rather than a conventional exhibition, aimed at connecting women entrepreneurs with buyers, investors and industry stakeholders while supporting business growth and formalisation.
Parliamentary Secretary for Women Development Sadia Taimour said the participation of more than 600 women reflects the rapid expansion of female entrepreneurship across Punjab.
“Platforms like WEPX translate the Chief Minister’s Women First vision into practical outcomes by enabling women to scale up their businesses, enter formal markets and contribute meaningfully to economic growth,” she said.
The expo will feature sector-specific stalls, panel discussions, founder talks and interactive sessions with policymakers and private sector leaders. Officials expect the event to attract strong interest from domestic buyers, investors and development partners, positioning WEPX as a key forum for promoting women-led enterprises and inclusive economic development in the province.
