KARACHI, Pakistan — The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has strongly rejected Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s recent speech, calling it “ridiculous” and “contrary to facts,” while launching a scathing attack on the Sindh government’s governance record.
In a statement responding to Bilawal’s address, MQM spokesperson said the PPP chairman cannot wash away the Sindh government’s incompetence and corruption even with hundreds of presentations and speeches.
The MQM demanded that the truth about five decades of PPP’s rule in Sindh be brought before the public, challenging the party’s claims of development and progress in the province.
The sharp exchange highlights the ongoing political tensions between the two major parties in Sindh, where the PPP leads the provincial government while MQM maintains significant influence in urban areas, particularly Karachi.
The MQM has consistently accused the PPP-led provincial government of misgovernance, corruption, and neglecting urban centers while the PPP defends its development record and social welfare initiatives.
