US President Donald Trump has claimed that during a covert operation earlier this month to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, the United States deployed a new weapon that completely disabled Venezuela’s military defense capabilities.
According to Al Arabiya’s report, speaking to the New York Post on Saturday, President Trump revealed that on January 3, when American helicopters landed in the Venezuelan capital Caracas to arrest President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, a secret weapon called the “Distractor” was used during the operation.
According to President Trump, the use of this weapon paralyzed all of Venezuela’s military defense capabilities. He stated that the enemy’s military machinery was completely disabled and they were unable to use even Russian and Chinese-made missile systems. Trump said, “We just pressed a button and nothing was working.”
Although the US President avoided providing technical details of the weapon, reports claim it may be based on “pulse energy,” which has allegedly been linked to symptoms similar to Havana Syndrome.
According to statements from President Maduro’s close security personnel, all radar systems suddenly shut down during the operation while a large number of drones appeared.
Eyewitnesses reported that a specific wave emitted by American forces caused severe headaches among personnel present, nosebleeds began, and several individuals collapsed unconscious. One security official stated that after the wave, they were unable to move.
In an interview with News Nation, President Trump stated that America possesses amazing weapons that the world doesn’t know about, and they don’t want this technology to fall into anyone else’s hands.
It should be noted that President Nicolás Maduro and his wife face federal charges related to drug and arms smuggling, which formed the basis for this operation.
