Work has commenced on “Maryam Nawaz’s Sohna Punjab” projects in 51 cities across Punjab.
According to details, under Maryam Nawaz’s Sohna Punjab initiative, every city in Punjab will be provided with sewerage systems, roads will be improved, security will be ensured, and all basic health facilities will be made mandatory.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the completion of the project to make Punjab more beautiful by June 2026. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the early completion of sewerage and other basic infrastructure projects in every city. Provincial and district control rooms will be established to ensure implementation of the Punjab Development Plan.
The ambitious development program aims to address long-standing infrastructure deficits across Punjab’s urban centers. The comprehensive nature of the initiative, covering sewerage, roads, security, and healthcare, represents a significant investment in public services. The June 2026 deadline sets a tight timeframe for coordinating work across 51 cities simultaneously.
The establishment of control rooms at provincial and district levels suggests a focus on monitoring and accountability to ensure timely completion. Success of the program will depend on effective coordination between various government departments, adequate budgetary allocation, and efficient project management across multiple locations.
