LAHORE: The Punjab Transport Company (PTC) has accelerated efforts to implement a modern, integrated, and cashless public transport system across the province, marking a significant step toward the vision of a “Digital Pakistan.”
As part of the initiative, PTC has introduced the T-Cash Card, a unified payment solution designed to offer commuters a seamless travel experience across multiple transit services. According to a PTC spokesperson, the card will enable passengers to use Metro Bus, Orange Line Metro Train, Speedo, and E-Bus services through a single payment instrument.
The move aims to eliminate cash-based transactions, enhancing security, transparency, and operational efficiency for millions of daily commuters.
Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Transport Company, Kausar Khan, said the T-Cash Card goes beyond a conventional travel pass and has been developed in compliance with State Bank of Pakistan regulations. “The T-Cash Card will operate as a debit card, allowing citizens to manage everyday financial transactions along with their travel needs,” she said, describing the initiative as a major step toward public convenience and digital inclusion.
Highlighting public uptake, Kausar Khan revealed that more than 130,000 applications for the T-Cash Card have been received so far, with over 66,000 cards already issued and delivered to citizens. She added that the introduction of a home delivery service has provided significant relief to applicants.
Citizens can apply for the T-Cash Card through the official web portal, the e-Transit mobile application, or via a dedicated helpline. The digital platforms also allow applicants to track their application status in real time. The CEO reiterated that the initiative will ensure accessibility across Punjab’s transport network, offering a safer, more efficient, and streamlined commuting experience for the public.
