Punjab Horticulture Authority to Be Modernized Under Digital Transformation Plan: Mengal

Punjab Housing Secretary Noor-ul-Amin Mengal visited the office of the Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) to review departmental affairs, institutional expansion, and ongoing reform initiatives. During the visit, Additional Director General PHA Mirza Waleed Baig provided a detailed briefing on the authority’s performance, current projects, and future objectives.
The Housing Secretary directed that the PHA be developed on modern lines and that all monitoring be conducted through digital and automated systems. He emphasized the establishment of a comprehensive dashboard for effective oversight, monitoring of officers and staff field activities through geo-tagging, and the geo-tagging of all trees under the authority’s care.
Mengal also reviewed the progress of newly established horticulture agencies and stated that suitable sites would be identified for the development of new parks and green belts, while the upgradation and rehabilitation of existing parks would be accelerated.
Highlighting the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Housing Secretary said that all necessary measures are being taken to increase green areas at the district level. He underscored that the newly constituted Punjab Horticulture Authority will be fully digitalized, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and improved service delivery.
He added that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, the Punjab Housing Department is committed to providing citizens with a clean, pleasant, and healthy environment.
