Lahore: A delegation from the Mid-Career Service Course of the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) visited the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) to gain insights into its operations and revenue collection mechanisms.
Chairman PRA, Moazzam Iqbal Sipra, briefed the delegation on the Authority’s organizational structure, departmental functions, and overall performance. He explained the technical aspects and legal framework of the Punjab Sales Tax on Services, emphasizing PRA’s role as the largest provincial institution responsible for revenue collection.
Chairman Sipra stated that offices are being established in 26 districts at the divisional level during the current financial year, which will significantly strengthen field operations. He also noted that the strength of enforcement teams is being doubled, which is expected to improve performance and revenue collection.
He highlighted that achieving provincial revenue targets would not have been possible without extensive digitalization and administrative reforms.
Members of the PAS delegation appreciated the digital and administrative reforms implemented by PRA, describing them as a positive step towards efficient service delivery. They also emphasized that awareness campaigns at all levels are crucial for promoting a tax culture and eliminating fake invoicing.
