Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi has said that he has received an invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a meeting tomorrow, where he will present the province’s issues in a comprehensive manner.
Addressing the Khyber Peace Jirga, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan and stressed the need for national unity against terrorism.
Afridi alleged that the federal government had misappropriated billions of rupees meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the past. He said that when his government allocated Rs4 billion for the affected people, corruption allegations were leveled against him by the federation.
“We are not talking about Rs4 billion; we are ready to provide Rs100 billion for the victims,” he said.
The KP Chief Minister announced that he would visit all tribal districts and seek public opinion regarding a potential sit-in in Islamabad.
He further claimed that conspiracies were underway to impose governor’s rule in the province. Afridi alleged that efforts were being made either to have him disqualified through the courts or removed from his position.
