KHANEWAL: The inter-district table tennis trials for the Chief Minister Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026 have concluded successfully, with girls from Khanewal securing all top five positions.
The trials, held at the Sports Gymnasium Khanewal under the District Sports and Youth Affairs Department and the District Table Tennis Association Khanewal, aimed to select players for the Multan Division Table Tennis Team. Under-21 girls participated enthusiastically, showcasing remarkable talent.
Based on outstanding performances, Aiman Arshad, Zainab Mukhtar, Maimoona Majid, Javeria Fatima, and Kashaf Tariq secured the first five positions, earning selection for the Multan Division team.
Chief Guest Atta-ur-Rehman Khan Baloch (Multan) said that under the special directives of the Chief Minister Punjab, comprehensive arrangements are being made for the Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026. He emphasized that such events help uncover hidden talent, promote a sports culture, and encourage youth to maintain a healthy lifestyle away from negative influences.
He further stated that trials for all games across the division have been completed under the guidance of the Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab and the Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab. Players participated with great enthusiasm following preparations for the Pink Games.
The guest of honor at the table tennis trials ceremony was Khawaja Hassan Wadood, an international umpire, player, and former senior office bearer of the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation.
Other notable attendees included Muhammad Hafeez (DEO Sports), Qulzam Bashir Sheikh (PTV/APP representative), Adnan Naeem (DEO Sports Multan), Anbar Bashir Sheikh (President, DTTA), Rana Moeen-ud-Din (President, District Sports Welfare Association), Abdul Majeed Gujar (Tehsil Sports Officer Mian Channu), Dr. Hamid Ali, Madam Sahira Shabnam (Senior Vice President), Malik Aamir Sohail (General Secretary), Muhammad Abdullah Sheikh (Joint Secretary), and Muhammad Burhan (Coach, DTTA). Senior players witnessed the matches and motivated the athletes.
Various sports organizations and social circles congratulated the District Table Tennis Association Khanewal and the selected players for their outstanding performance. The chosen athletes will represent the Multan Division in the Khelta Punjab Pink Games 2026 in Lahore.
