Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today received a high-level 5-member delegation from Indonesia led by His Excellency Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, in a significant meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral economic and investment ties.

The two sides reaffirmed the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, which have continued to grow stronger over the decades. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that these historic ties are built on mutual trust and shared values.
The Prime Minister expressed warm good wishes for Indonesian President His Excellency Prabowo Subianto. He recalled the highly productive and successful visit of President Prabowo to Pakistan last year, which greatly contributed to consolidating bilateral relations. He also mentioned his productive meeting with the Indonesian President during the World Economic Forum’s 58th annual meeting.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s strong desire to further enhance economic and trade relations with Indonesia. He expressed keen interest in benefiting from Indonesia’s successful experience with the Sovereign Wealth Fund model to support Pakistan’s economic development and investment strategies.
The Indonesian Minister conveyed heartfelt greetings and good wishes from President Prabowo Subianto to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Pakistan for the warm welcome and excellent hospitality extended during the visit. Minister Rosan Roeslani reiterated Indonesia’s firm commitment to advancing bilateral relations and cooperation in diverse fields.
Both sides agreed to intensify efforts to upgrade the existing Preferential Trade Agreement into a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by 2027. Discussions focused on expanding investment cooperation, exploring new avenues for joint ventures, and promoting trade in priority sectors.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistants to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Haroon Akhtar, along with other senior government officials.
The visit underscores the growing momentum in Pakistan-Indonesia relations, particularly in trade, investment, and economic partnership.
