The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled a major attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills abroad during an operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
According to an ANF spokesperson, a consignment of 32 cartons was seized from the airport’s cargo shed, containing 1,470,000 Tramadol tablets weighing 808.5 kilograms, and 57,600 Valium (Diazepam) tablets weighing 17.280 kilograms.
The spokesperson said the total weight of the seized pills is 825.78 kilograms, and the consignment was booked for shipment to Nigeria.
ANF officials stated that the recovered drugs have been taken into custody and legal proceedings have been initiated, while investigations are underway to arrest those involved in the smuggling attempt.
