Peshawar,— The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has approved the establishment of a new tehsil (Tank-II) in Tank district. The decision aims to enhance administrative efficiency and provide better public services to the local population.
The cabinet also sanctioned an additional grant of Rs 385 million for the heirs of Levies martyrs, along with the approval of the Ramadan Support Package 2026 for low-income households to provide financial relief during the holy month.
Key approvals from the meeting include:
Reconstitution of the Quran Board.
Appointment of members to the National Commission for Minorities Rights.
Additional funds for police infrastructure projects in southern districts.
Passage of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kalash Marriage Bill 2025 and the Hindu Marriage (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) Amendment Bill 2025.
Construction of a fruit and vegetable market in Bara Tehsil, Khyber District.
