Participants described the initiative as a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
Addressing the ceremony, Mian Anjum Nisar said his father had a deep attachment to FCCU and regarded it as a key institution for promoting quality education in the country. He said the modern pharmacy labs have been established in his father’s name to carry forward his educational vision and to provide students with enhanced opportunities for practical training and research.
He emphasized that pharmaceutical education today extends beyond theoretical knowledge, requiring modern research facilities and practical exposure. The establishment of the Mian Nisar Elahi Pharmacy Labs, he said, will provide students with laboratory facilities aligned with international standards, enabling them to strengthen their academic capabilities and contribute effectively to the healthcare sector.
Mian Anjum Nisar added that investing in education is, in essence, investing in the nation’s future. He reaffirmed the private sector’s commitment to continued collaboration with educational institutions to equip the younger generation with research skills, innovation, and professional expertise.
FCCU Rector Jonathan Addleton appreciated the contributions of Mian Anjum Nisar and his family to the education sector, stating that such initiatives enhance institutional capacity and help students align with modern scientific demands. He termed the establishment of the labs a milestone for FCCU, offering students opportunities for research and learning in line with global standards.
He further noted that the labs will provide pharmacy students access to modern equipment and technology, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings and contribute to innovation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. The initiative is also expected to promote stronger linkages between academia and industry and foster a culture of research and development in the country.
