ISLAMABAD,Pakistan’s military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Thursday that security forces eliminated 10 “Indian-sponsored” terrorists during a comprehensive sanitisation operation in Zhob district of Balochistan.
The operation, conducted on Wednesday (February 25), was a follow-up to an intelligence-based operation (IBO) carried out on February 24 in the same area, in which eight terrorists were killed earlier.
According to the ISPR statement: “During the conduct of the operation, own forces tracked down Khwarij on multiple routes and effectively engaged their locations. After an ensuing fire exchange, ten Indian-sponsored khwarij were sent to hell.”
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, the statement added.
“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area,” ISPR said.
The statement concluded that security forces and law enforcement agencies “will continue to act against terrorism at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country” in line with the National Action Plan.
The development comes as Pakistan intensifies counter-terrorism operations in its western border regions amid a recent surge in militant attacks.
