ISLAMABAD — Following Italy’s earlier initiative, five additional European countries — Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, and Lithuania — have formally agreed to provide employment opportunities to Pakistani citizens through official channels.
The development comes as a result of diplomatic engagements between Pakistan and these nations aimed at creating legal, structured pathways for Pakistani workers to access European labor markets. The agreement is expected to open new avenues for skilled and semi-skilled Pakistani workers seeking employment abroad.
In addition to labor cooperation, all parties agreed to strengthen coordination on curbing illegal immigration, promoting legal migration channels as a viable and preferred alternative.
The move is being seen as a significant diplomatic achievement for Pakistan, expanding its labor export footprint across Europe and offering economic relief to thousands of Pakistanis seeking overseas employment opportunities through safe and legal means.
