ISLAMABAD (Reporter: M.Saleem ) — The federal capital Islamabad has been placed on high security alert amid growing concerns over potential threats, with authorities activating a citywide security response.
All police leaves have been immediately cancelled, with DIGs, SSPs, SHOs, and officers and personnel at all ranks ordered to report to their duty posts without delay. Security has been significantly tightened at all entry and exit points of the city, with additional personnel deployed at sensitive locations.
Special surveillance is underway at key government buildings, places of worship, commercial centers, and public spaces, while police patrols have been intensified across the city. Security forces are maintaining a close watch on any suspicious activity.
Citizens have been urged to report any suspicious persons or activities immediately to the nearest police station or by calling emergency helpline 15, and to fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
The high alert comes amid heightened tensions on the Pak-Afghan border as Operation Azm-ul-Haq continues, raising concerns over potential retaliatory threats within Pakistan’s urban centers.
