Meghan Grimm — the former personal assistant turned entrepreneur behind the elite entertainment staffing agency Clyde — is now launching a podcast where she will interview talent with their personal assistants, digging into the important role that support staff plays in Hollywood’s larger creative and business class.
Guests on Clyde Confidential, which will launch on March 12, will include Julianne Hough and Tommy Dorfman and their assistants. The podcast will launch with an episode featuring podcaster Sofia Franklyn and her assistant, Soph.
“Behind every headline is the person who booked the car, confirmed the call time and packed the snacks. In Hollywood, assistants aren’t background; they’re the operating system,” reads today’s announcement about Clyde Confidential. The podcast promises to bring together clients, creatives and “ex-assistants turned power players” to offer lessons learned and stories from building their careers.
For her part, Grimm worked as a personal assistant to Madonna and Jennifer Lawrence before launching Clyde in 2020, where high-profile clients have included Anne Hathaway, Uma Thurman and Dakota Johnson. The company has since expanded into event and travel planning, lifestyle management and other round-the-clock support services for clients.
“This podcast is truly a love letter to assistants all over and the bosses who empower them,” said Grimm. “There’s always been a sense of mystery around the life of a personal assistant in Hollywood — being the unseen hero behind highly visible individuals. I’m excited to explore these relationships and the dynamic between assistants and talent, and how they ultimately shape and impact each other’s careers.”
