LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Energy Punjab Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar met a delegation of Greenland & Laser at the Energy Department to discuss the promotion of solar energy in agriculture.
The delegation included Chief Executive Officer Rana Faiz Rasool, Rana Yasir, and Rana Atif.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the use of solar energy in the agricultural sector, provision of affordable and sustainable electricity to farmers, and the promotion of modern farming technologies.
The delegation briefed the Provincial Minister on the application of solar energy in agriculture, laser land leveling, water management, and advanced farming techniques. It was highlighted that using solar power for agricultural tube wells and other farming operations can significantly reduce operational costs, offering direct financial relief to farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the Government of Punjab is taking concrete steps to modernize the agricultural sector. He emphasized that promoting solar energy will not only lower energy costs but also support environmentally sustainable development.
He added that the government aims to provide affordable, reliable, and quality electricity to the people of the province, especially farmers. In this regard, renewable energy projects are being prioritized, and collaboration with the private sector is being actively encouraged.
