Islamabad –Report M.Saleem jutt
A 26-point joint declaration was issued on Sunday at an All Parties Conference (APC) hosted by the Awami National Party (ANP), strongly condemning terrorism, extremism, and lawlessness across Pakistan.
The declaration emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive measures to eliminate militancy and ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property. It also called for the immediate dismantling of illegal armed groups operating in the country.
Political leaders demanded full implementation of the 18th Constitutional Amendment and the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award in accordance with the Constitution. The declaration further urged the government to recover missing persons and produce them before courts.
The APC called for the release of political prisoners and the provision of a free environment for political activities. It also rejected restrictions on media and opposed laws such as the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
The declaration stressed that Pakistan must avoid involvement in foreign wars, while also urging the federal government to declare flood-hit districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as disaster-affected areas and announce immediate relief packages.
Political observers note that the APC’s resolution underscores demands for democratic freedoms, constitutional supremacy, and strengthened civilian protections at a time of rising concerns over security and governance in the country.
