Kasur: Managing Director WASA Kasur, Chaudhry Kashif Minhas, has ordered the immediate acceleration of desilting operations in drains and directed authorities to ensure that all open manholes are covered without delay, warning of strict action against negligent staff.
Acting on the special instructions of Secretary Housing and Urban Development HUD&PHED Noorul Amin Mengal and Deputy Commissioner Kasur Muhammad Asif Raza, the MD WASA undertook emergency visits to various parts of the city to assess the water supply and sewerage situation.
Accompanied by field staff, he inspected multiple areas, reviewing ongoing development and sanitation works. During the visit, he closely examined blocked sewer lines, open manholes, and the desilting process, issuing strict directives to the concerned officers to resolve sewer blockages immediately and expedite drain cleaning to prevent inconvenience to citizens.
Chaudhry Kashif Minhas also visited the Kasur Tanneries Waste Management Agency and several tube well stations, where he checked the performance of machinery, monitored water supply operations, and reviewed staff attendance records.
He emphasized that uninterrupted water supply must be ensured at all costs, directing that any faulty machinery be repaired promptly. He also warned of strict departmental action against absentee staff.
The MD WASA stated that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, provision of clean drinking water and improvement of the sewage system remain top priorities. “Any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated,” he asserted, adding that WASA teams are working round the clock and utilizing all available resources to address public complaints.
He urged citizens to report issues related to water supply, sewerage, or open manholes by contacting the Punjab WASA helpline (1334) or the WASA Kasur WhatsApp helpline (0339-1341334) for timely resolution.
