Lahore, April 1, 2026: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth to review the progress of local roads development work under Chief Minister Punjab’s flagship program “Sohne Pind Sohniyan Rahan”.
The meeting reviewed ongoing works that started on December 31. Officers of the Communication & Works (C&W) Department, Chief Engineers, and XENs joined the meeting online.
According to the briefing, work is in progress on 1,530 roads at a total cost of Rs77 billion, covering 3,301 kilometers of roads across the province. So far, earthwork on 750 kilometers and base work on 303 kilometers have been completed.
The Provincial Minister stated that the program will be completed by June and the required funds have already been released by the government. He added that roads in both urban and rural areas are being improved on priority basis to provide better travel facilities to the people.
