ISLAMABAD — Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after sustaining a side strain injury while representing Rawalpindis in the ongoing tournament.
The Rawalpindis team management confirmed the development in an official statement, expressing solidarity with the pacer and saying they stand by him in this difficult time. According to the management, Naseem Shah suffered the side strain during the match against Karachi Kings, which has now forced him out of the remainder of the event.
No announcement regarding a replacement for Naseem Shah has been made by the franchise so far.
It is worth noting that Naseem Shah had already faced controversy during the current tournament, having been issued a show-cause notice and fined Rs 20 million by the PSL management over a contentious social media post. His early exit due to injury brings a turbulent PSL 11 campaign to a premature end.
