LAHORE: Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique chaired a review meeting on the Lahore Development Program (LDP) Phase-II at Town Hall, focusing on progress and upcoming projects. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Rashid Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz, and MD WASA Syed Ghufran Ahmed also attended the session.
During the meeting, officials provided a detailed briefing on the current status of Phase-II of LDP. Minister Zeeshan Rafique said that work on 5,174 streets under the supervision of MCL has been completed so far, marking 59 percent progress of the second phase. He added that work on an additional 1,578 streets is scheduled to begin during the current month of April.
The minister noted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is giving special attention to improving infrastructure in underdeveloped areas. He highlighted that the program has expanded the operational scope of WASA to dozens of new settlements.
Zeeshan Rafique emphasized that the construction of modern drainage and sewerage systems under LDP will significantly reduce the risk of urban flooding, while improving overall living conditions for residents of Lahore.
