Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, accompanied by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf, conducted a comprehensive security inspection of the Red Zone on Friday in preparation for the arrival of high-profile foreign delegations.
During the visit, senior officials reviewed security arrangements at entry and exit points, diplomatic missions, key government and private buildings, and other sensitive locations across the capital. The IGP issued strict directives to all personnel on duty to further reinforce, coordinate, and tighten security protocols.
IGP Rizvi confirmed that Islamabad Police has put in place foolproof security arrangements at all critical locations, including negotiation venues, airports, major highways, hotels, and the residences of foreign delegates. He added that comprehensive escort security is also being provided to all visiting foreign dignitaries and guests.
Addressing the multi-agency nature of the security plan, the IGP stated that alongside Islamabad Police, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, district administration, Pakistan Army, Rangers, Frontier Corps (FC), police from other provinces, intelligence agencies, traffic police, and Special Branch are all actively fulfilling their respective roles to create a robust and integrated security framework.
A comprehensive traffic management plan has also been put in place to ensure smooth flow of traffic across the capital and minimise inconvenience to the public during this sensitive period. Citizens have been urged to cooperate fully with security agencies and to comply with all directives issued by the authorities.
Concluding his remarks, IGP Islamabad reaffirmed that the police force would deploy all available resources to provide the highest standard of security to foreign delegations, pledging to uphold Pakistan’s national dignity, prestige, and safety at every level.
