Lahore: Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran have been lauded by a senior leader of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, who described the country as an emerging global advocate of peace.
Addressing a party meeting, PMML Secretary General Saifullah Kasuri said Pakistan is playing a constructive role on the international stage by promoting dialogue and de-escalation between rival states.
He noted that the international community is increasingly recognizing Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at supporting ceasefire initiatives and reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The meeting was attended by party leaders including Aqeel Ahmed Laghari, Sardar Ahmed Mujtaba Rind, Hafiz Idrees, and Abdullah Shar, along with a large number of workers.
Kasuri also announced that PMML will actively participate in upcoming local government elections across all provinces. He directed party workers to begin preparations, adding that the party intends to contest both local body and cantonment board elections nationwide.
Referring to the situation in Balochistan, he described the province as the “heart of Pakistan” and its people as patriotic, while stressing the need to address long-standing grievances.
He alleged that hostile elements are involved in acts of terrorism and sabotage in the province with the aim of destabilizing the country.
Reiterating the party’s stance, Kasuri said PMML has consistently condemned terrorism and worked to unite the nation against such threats. He emphasized that national unity remains vital for strengthening the country and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the people of Balochistan.
He concluded by affirming that the party will continue efforts to address the concerns of the province and contribute to national stability and development.
