Madinah, April 16, 2026 — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Madinah Munawwarah late last night after concluding engagements in Jeddah during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was warmly received by the Governor of Madinah, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, along with senior Saudi officials.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister visited the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) and offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and its people, as well as for peace and harmony across the world.
Special arrangements were made for the Prime Minister and his delegation, with the gates of the Rawdah Rasool ﷺ (the sacred chamber of the Prophet) opened exclusively for them. PM Shehbaz Sharif performed a private ziyarat and paid respects by offering durud and salam.
Having completed his official engagements in Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will now depart from Madinah for Doha, Qatar, where he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The visit to Saudi Arabia and the upcoming meeting in Qatar are part of a broader four-day regional tour (15–18 April 2026) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and discussing regional peace and security issues.
