Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to accelerate development projects through Public-Private Partnership (PPP), granting in-principle approval to restructure and strengthen the Public-Private Partnership Authority (P3A). It was decided that P3A will now function under the Privatisation Division and will be overseen by the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation. The Prime Minister directed relevant ministries and departments to enhance their capacity for launching PPP-based development projects and instructed that such projects be made a mandatory part of departmental KPIs. The meeting was also briefed on global and regional PPP models and the contours of the proposed new framework. Federal Ministers Dr. Musadik Malik, Azam Nazir Tarar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Ahsan Iqbal, along with senior officials, attended the session.
