LAHORE: The Punjab Housing Department has taken key decisions to accelerate the Chief Minister Punjab Clean Water Program, aiming to improve access to safe drinking water across the province.
In this regard, Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin Mengal issued important directives to strengthen planning, monitoring, and field operations of the initiative.
According to officials, Mazhar Khan has been given the additional charge of Director General (Projects) at the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority, while he will continue serving as Chief Engineer LDA-II.
Noor-ul-Amin Mengal directed that the planning and execution of the Clean Water Program be aligned with modern standards to ensure uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water to citizens.
He also instructed authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan for the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority Complex, including the establishment of a modern water testing laboratory to enhance monitoring and quality assessment mechanisms.
The Secretary emphasized the need for an effective strategy for field operations and maintenance, along with immediate redressal of public complaints to strengthen public trust in the program.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal stated that all available resources are being utilized to make the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision for clean drinking water a success, adding that provision of quality water remains a top priority for the provincial government.
