German authorities launched a sweeping crackdown against the notorious Hells Angels motorcycle gang Tuesday, conducting large-scale raids across multiple locations in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of an intensified push against organised crime.
Law enforcement officers simultaneously targeted several premises linked to the gang, seizing weapons, narcotics, cash, and incriminating documents. A number of suspects were taken into custody during the operation, which officials described as one of the most significant actions against biker gang crime in the state in recent years.
The Hells Angels, an internationally active motorcycle club, have long been under scrutiny by German authorities for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, extortion, and violent crime. North Rhine-Westphalia, home to several of the gang’s chapters, has been a focal point of law enforcement efforts.
“We are sending a clear message that organised crime has no place in our society,” a senior police official said following the operation.
