Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner Saqib Sadaqat has announced that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh has reached the $1 billion mark, marking a historic milestone in economic relations between the two South Asian nations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy High Commissioner highlighted that the establishment of direct flight connections and shipping links between the two countries has significantly expanded the potential for bilateral trade.
He noted that improved connectivity and reduced logistical costs have encouraged businessmen and investors from both sides to explore new opportunities. The development of direct sea and air routes has been a key driver in removing traditional barriers to trade.
Analysts believe that with continued diplomatic engagement and further easing of trade policies, the two countries have the potential to push bilateral trade well beyond the $1 billion threshold in the coming years.
