The University of Agriculture Swat held a dignified and inspiring ceremony to commemorate Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, paying heartfelt tribute to the courage, sacrifices and resilience of Pakistan’s armed forces.
The event was organised by the Directorate of Outreach and Student Affairs and was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan, Brigadier Aamer Jamil, faculty members, administrative staff and a large number of students.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, setting an atmosphere of unity, solemnity and national pride. Dr. Mian Ahmad Raza formally inaugurated the programme.
Students delivered impassioned speeches, presenting Marka-e-Haq as a timeless symbol of truth, bravery and national integrity. They paid glowing tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the homeland and stressed the pivotal responsibility of the youth in safeguarding Pakistan’s ideological and geographical frontiers.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan lauded the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the armed forces in defence of the country. He remarked that Marka-e-Haq is not merely a historical reference but a living source of inspiration — a call for the nation to uphold justice, unity and resilience in the face of adversity. He further emphasized the vital role of educational institutions in nurturing informed, responsible and patriotic citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to national progress.
Brigadier Aamer Jamil commended the university’s efforts in organizing such a meaningful event. He highlighted the significance of Marka-e-Haq in strengthening national cohesion and reaffirming Pakistan’s collective commitment to the defence of its sovereignty. He urged students to remain steadfast in their academic pursuits while embodying the values of discipline, integrity and selfless service to the nation.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed collective pledge by all participants to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes and work shoulder to shoulder for a prosperous and invincible Pakistan. Commemorative shields were exchanged and a group photograph was taken to mark the occasion.
The event was a continuation of the previous day’s activities, during which faculty members, students and staff — led by the Vice Chancellor — participated in a Khatm-ul-Quran and a solidarity walk in support of the Pakistan Army, further reaffirming the university community’s deep bond with the nation and its defenders.
