LAHORE: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on AI and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, visited the Makkah Route Initiative facility at Lahore Airport, where he bid farewell to departing Hajj pilgrims and reviewed the arrangements made for them.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Dar described the Makkah Route Initiative as an exemplary facility for Pakistani pilgrims. He highlighted that under this initiative, immigration clearance and baggage tagging are completed within Pakistan before departure, enabling pilgrims to avoid unnecessary delays upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.
He further explained that once pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia, they can proceed directly to their respective hotels, while their luggage is transported straight to their accommodations. This system, he noted, has made the entire Hajj journey significantly more convenient, organized, and comfortable.
Ali Dar termed the Saudi government’s Makkah Route Initiative as highly commendable and praised it as an effective and modern system designed to facilitate pilgrims and ensure ease throughout their sacred journey.
He added that the Government of Punjab is committed to providing maximum convenience to the public and ensuring the best possible arrangements for Hajj pilgrims. “Serving the pilgrims of the Holy Land is a matter of great honor for us, and their comfort remains our top priority,” he said.
