LAHORE, May 14: In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Health for All” vision, Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has delivered high-quality medical services to 754,350 patients during the first four months of 2025, underscoring the institution’s growing role as a cornerstone of public healthcare in Punjab.
According to the performance report presented by MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain to Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, the Emergency Department alone served 365,091 patients, all of whom received free medicines, diagnostic tests, CT scans, and surgical procedures. A total of 35,396 successful surgeries of various categories were performed during this period.
Diagnostic Services at a Glance
The four-month statistical breakdown reflects the hospital’s extensive diagnostic capacity: approximately 800,000 lab tests, 106,410 X-rays, 43,728 ultrasounds, 24,090 CT scans, 6,639 MRIs, 83 mammographies, 2,334 gastroscopies, over 30,000 ECGs, and 6,174 dialysis procedures. Additionally, 1,423 patients were referred from other districts across Punjab to LGH for specialised treatment.
Principal Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that under the guidance of Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique and Secretary Specialized Healthcare Azmat Mehmood Khan, the hospital administration is deploying all available resources for patient welfare. He highlighted that a robust monitoring and feedback system has been introduced, already yielding measurable improvements in service delivery.
MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain added that dedicated administrative doctors have been assigned to ensure discipline, hygiene, staff attendance, and enhanced patient care across all departments.
LGH reaffirmed its commitment to continuing standardised, accessible healthcare for the people of Punjab in strict alignment with the Chief Minister’s vision.
