LAHORE: The complaint resolution process at the Punjab Police 1787 Complaint Center is continuing actively, with more than 34,000 complaints resolved during the current year.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said that complaints received from citizens are being addressed within the stipulated timeline in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
He said the monitoring system has been further strengthened to improve the performance and effectiveness of the 1787 Complaint Center. The IG Punjab added that District Police Officers (DPOs) are personally monitoring complaints received through the 1787 system to ensure prompt redressal.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, significant progress has been made in resolving complaints of different categories. These include 17,249 complaints related to registration of cases and 8,270 complaints regarding slow investigation.
Similarly, 2,547 complaints related to police services and more than 7,000 departmental and other complaints have also been resolved.
The spokesperson further said that 1,781 complaints related to the arrest of accused persons, 3,071 related to recovery matters, and 1,646 regarding faulty investigations were addressed. In addition, 865 complaints concerning cancellation of false cases and 537 related to change of investigation were resolved.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem urged citizens to contact the 1787 Complaint Center without hesitation in case of any complaint against police officials.
