LAHORE: Professor Muhammad Ashraf Nizami, Central Chairman for International Affairs of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), has said that the completion of 75 years of enduring friendship between Pakistan and China is a historic reflection of visionary leadership, public trust, and the strong bond shared by the two nations.
In a statement, Prof. Nizami said that Pakistan-China relations have always been based on mutual respect, economic cooperation, defence coordination, and regional stability. He added that there is a need to effectively transfer this friendship to the younger generation so that bilateral relations can be strengthened further in the future.
He urged the Government of Pakistan to introduce the Chinese language as a compulsory subject in schools across the country, following the model adopted in Sindh, in view of expanding educational, trade, and diplomatic ties with China.
Prof. Nizami stated that such a step would provide the younger generation with valuable opportunities in technology, trade, diplomacy, and other modern global sectors.
He further emphasized that the promotion of the Russian language in universities is also an important requirement of the time in order to strengthen relations, regional development, and academic cooperation with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
“Languages serve as bridges between nations and play a vital role in strengthening economic and cultural relations,” he said.
Prof. Nizami stressed that Pakistan should make modern language education part of its national policy to enhance regional cooperation, educational progress, and diplomatic stability, paving the way for a stronger, more developed, and globally effective Pakistan.
